HEAD OF LEARNING
Young people become leaders by doing — making choices, working with others, and responding to real challenges in their communities. With three decades working with young people and families through academic and personal transitions, I bring a steady commitment to helping students grow as leaders.
As a global educator, student advisor, and program leader, I have worked across the United States, Southern China/Hong Kong, and the MENA region in A Level, IB, and AP curricula, building and leading departments and developing capstone projects and outdoor-education experiences centered on student voice.
I hold a BA in History from UC San Diego and an MS in Geography from the University of Nevada, Reno. I am a certified university counsellor, a member of IECA, IACAC, NAFSA, and Member of the World Council on Intercultural and Global Competence, and a certified Yoga Teacher.

HEAD OF MENTORSHIP
Every student carries the intelligence and desire to learn — my role is finding the pathway that lets their strengths lead.
As an award-winning global history educator, I have been honored by the American Historical Association as National High School Mentor of the Year and recognized as New York State's Human Rights and Holocaust Teacher of the Year. I have taught graduate seminars at Vassar, Fordham, and Hofstra, and guide students through university application writing, where my mentees have gone on to secure offers from top institutions.
My studies began at Harvard College before completing a BA in History at Vassar College, followed by graduate degrees from Pace University and the College of New Rochelle. Beyond the classroom, I am a certified outdoor guide in canoeing, kayaking, and mountain guiding, and I write on history, mentorship, and storytelling.

Vivien Wee
OperationsContinuing onto my third year with the YLD support team, I am excited to experience the opportunities and perspectives at Davos.
A Malaysian marketing and operations professional with a background spanning finance, project coordination, and brand strategy, I bring hands-on experience to running a seamless program for our participants. Working holidays across the US, Finland, and New Zealand, and travel to over 40 countries, have shaped my ease in cross-cultural environments.
Educated at Monash University Malaysia with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Commerce, Accounting and Finance, I bring the same attention to detail and stakeholder coordination to YLD's operations that I've applied throughout my career.
